Micah David Jugueta Galang is the Grand Prize winner of the 2015 Jovita Fuentes Vocal Competition (Female Category) and Gamaliel Viray Audience Choice Award of the same competition. She was given the Most Outstanding Student Award (Voice Department) at the 2015 UST Conservatory of Music Student Awards.
Micah David played the role of Andeng Felipe de Leon’s Noli Me Tangere staged and encored at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in March and May of 2019. She has essayed the roles of Belinda in a UST Opera Class production of Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Candida in Fides Cuyugan Asencio’s semi-staged production of Mayo Bisperas ng Liwanag and was also a part of the the CCP/Daejon Opera Company production of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata under Maestro Jae Joon Lee and the UST production of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
Micah David was featured by the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation (MCOF) in its 2015 Young Artists Series. She has performed in concerts with fellow KMF Scholars during their concerts at the Philamlife Theater entitled Opera Gala (2011) and Broadway the KMF Way (2012), and KMF Empowered (2018) at Star Theater. She was also a member/soloist of various choral groups such as His Sounds and has performed with the Faith Gospel Singers during the first Philippine International Jazz Festival at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Micah obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Music, major in Voice Performance from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of pianist-soprano Naomi Paz T. Sison. She is a proud scholar-alumna of George T. Yang’s Klassikal Music Foundation.
